The Wakefield Community Garden, established in 2019, was established by Council through SA Health’s Healthy Towns Program. Every week, members of the community come to share in a similar passion for gardening and to learn new skills, feel the earth with their hands and socialise.
The gate is always open, come on in and explore the Garden.
Located in Apex Park, Balaklava, Council aims for it to become its own self-sustainable community which promotes inclusiveness and a barrier to social isolation. It’s somewhere people can connect, relax and feel like they’re playing an active role and contributing to their local area.
There’s plenty to do in the Garden:
Location: Virgo Terrace (opposite #4), Balaklava SA 5461 (adjacent to Balaklava Caravan parklands and Men’s Shed) and behind the Balaklava Swimming Pool.
